Leilani’s Island Fish & Steaks – Kaanapali, Maui, Hawaii

Leilani’s is located in Kaanapali and maybe most importantly….it’s on the beach!  You’ll find Leilani’s at Whalers Village, a great collection of shops sprinkled with local vendors selling their wares.  Leilani’s Beachside Grill is almost as popular as the beach itself. Both residents and locals flock here to enjoy casual fare while sipping exotic cocktails and enjoying live entertainment – beach music and classic rock & roll.  It’s also a great spot for people watching as the boardwalk runs directly in front of the Beachside Grill. Their scrumptious menu includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, Hawaiian local plates and fish & chips.

Leilani’s offers one of the island’s most dramatic views – orange and pink sunsets framed by the islands of Lanai and Molokai. In this setting, their island steakhouse is the perfect place to savor the finest cuts of classic steaks and the best of Hawaii’s local seafood.  The open air dining room boasts sweeping views of the Pacific with a menu of house specialties such as prime steaks, fresh Hawaiian fish prepared a variety of ways, crab legs and lobster. But leave room for dessert, their Original Hula Pie can’t be missed.

When Nightwire visited Maui, Leilani’s was a definite destination.  We sampled so many dishes, locally caught fish and every choice of preparation.  Hawaiian’s respect the sea and only certain types of fish are offered at specific times of the year so the menu is always changing.  The portions are generous and the staff members are super friendly and knowledgeable about menu selections and offerings.  Drinks were exotic and we felt like we found paradise!  Whether you choose to eat at the Beachside Grill or in the more formal dining room- Leilani’s is a must visit while on Maui!
