Our travel adventures this month took us to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.\u00a0\u00a0We stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies Hotel & Waterpark Resort.\u00a0\u00a0Wilderness at the Smokies, is located minutes from Interstate 40 and is situated in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.\u00a0\u00a0This year-round vacation destination has established a new standard for family vacations to East Tennessee.\u00a0 Among the over 700 rooms and suites, the resort also features a 36-hole championship golf course, a variety of dining and shopping areas, and their newest indoor “dry” activity center, Adventure Forrest.\u00a0\u00a0Adventure Forrest houses an array of activities from rock climbing walls, rope ladders, and even black light mini-golf.\u00a0\u00a0A definite must do when you’ve have too much fun in the sun, or on that gloomy day when you just want to stay indoors.\u00a0\u00a0On the property there are also two outdoor water parks, an indoor water park with a wave pool and the Southeast\u2019s only Surf Rider. The Wilderness at the Smokies resort has something for everyone, from toddlers to Grandma and Grandpa.\u00a0\u00a0Relaxing hot tubs, numerous waterslides, and indoor adventures.\u00a0 This magnificent property is also adjacent to a 200,000 square-foot conference, convention and event center known for hosting the area\u2019s largest conferences, athletic events and trade shows.<\/p>\n
Plus, there is always something new at this resort.\u00a0\u00a0Every year they add something bigger and better than the year before. In the spring of 2013 they added the Cyclone Racer waterslide to their outdoor Lake Wilderness Water park and in 2012 they added Adventure Forest area and the Wild Vortex slide.\u00a0\u00a0Their creative team is currently working on additions for 2014, we can\u2019t wait to see what they come up with!<\/p>\n
